Mission
GLAD Competitive strives to transform its members into technical, artistic and well rounded dancers. The team is designed for committed dancers who are ready for more rigorous training in commercial dance, as well as the performance opportunities the competition dance world provides. Its goal is to set dancers up for post high school pursuits, such as college dance teams, college dance programs, professional performance groups, and more.
About
GLADC is the official competition team of Greater Lansing Academy of Dance, open to all dancers age 5 -18. GLADC dancers train, perform and compete in many styles including contemporary, lyrical, jazz, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre, modern and tap. Dancers compete in dance competitions throughout Michigan and beyond. Auditions to join GLADC happen at the beginning of each season, contact us if you or your dancer would like more information!

Competitive Season
GLAD Competitive dancers and faculty are committed to working hard as a team throughout the competition dance season. Because we believe a strong technical base is crucial to a dancer's training dancers are required to take a specific curriculum of technical classes every week, in addition to their competitive dance rehearsals.

GLADC participates in a variety of competitive opportunities throughout the season

Dance Conventions such as NYCDA and DanceMakers provide dancers with classes from master teachers as well as scholarship opportunities.

Regional and National Dance Competitions allow dancers to perform, compete and receive feedback from a variety of judges and dance professionals.
